Hi! My name is Rev Josie, and I’m the Assistant Curate here at Trinity Saints.
I grew up near High Wycombe, and worshipped at a church in Cookham from a
young age. I began developing my own understanding of my faith at the age of 10,
when I joined the church choir. When I was 18, I moved to London to study music,
and alongside that I was discerning a call to the priesthood.
I then spent 3 years training at St Stephen’s House in Oxford, before I was
ordained in 2023, and spent the first 18 months of my curacy ministering in a
cathedral in North Wales. I’m really enjoying being back in London - before I went
off to train to be a priest, I was a pastoral assistant at Christ Church, on the Isle of
Dogs, so I know Stepney Area well.
As a curate at Trinity Saints, it’s my job to support Rev Laura in looking after the
parish, and all the people in it. I’ve been hugely enjoying getting to know all of you
- if we haven’t met yet, let me know when you’re free and I’ll take you for a coffee! I
love to hear people’s stories - to hear about your faith journey, and to talk about
where God is moving in your life and what He might be calling you to do.
Alongside my curacy at Trinity Saints, I’m also spending 2 days per week working
with 4 other churches in Hackney, as part of the Youth Minister. I’m responsible for
organising an event each term, called ‘The Gathering’ - an opportunity for young
people from across Hackney to come together for worship, fellowship, and fun.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, and catching up with friends. I
really enjoy playing and listening to music, and I particularly love musical theatre. I
also love church bell ringing, and can often be found ringing at churches across
London, and sometimes further afield!
